William Albert Brinkman

William Albert Brinkman, Sr., 88 passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2008. William was born March 18, 1920 to William and Rose Brinkman in St. Paul, Minnesota.
William worked in sales for many years and retired as an Economist from the State of Iowa, and was a veteran of WWII and a Drake University graduate. William was joined in marriage to Nancy Thorne on October 13, 1949 and had three children.
He had a passion for golf, sports, family and his faith. He was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. His last years were filled with an abundance of health, family and renewal of faith.
He is survived by a son, Bill Jr. (Cindy) Brinkman of Saylorville; daughter, Carolyn (David) Strawn of Des Moines; son, Kurt Brinkman of Des Moines; grandchildren Nicole Brinkman, Bryan Williams, Benjamin Uhl, Daniel Uhl, Mark Brinkman, Dustin Strawn, Dylan Strawn, Siera Purdy and great grand daughter Ava Brinkman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Nancy.
Private graveside services with burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
