Service Details

Eulalia passed from this existence Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Hospice Kavanaugh House with her son, Joe at her side. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Visitation Catholic Church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Eulalia was born to Gregorio and Petra Galvan on February 19, 1925 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She had four brothers, Fernando, Celestino, Crispin and Tom and one sister, Angela.
She was united in marriage to Joe Negrete. To this union four children were born, Dolores Medina (Richard) of Des Moines, Tom Negrete (Patricia) of Montezuma, Jeannette Negrete of Des Moines and Joseph Negrete (Laurel) of Omaha. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Eulalia was employed as a banquet waitress at the Hotel Fort Des Moines for many years. Eulalia loved to garden and tended beautiful flower and vegetable gardens for many years. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed embroidery, quilting, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed Mexican music and dancing.
Eulalia’s home was open to family and friends on all holidays and special occasions. Her home was always filled with music and flowers. She was a talented cook of traditional Mexican cuisine.
Eulalia was devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents and siblings as well as two great grandsons and a great granddaughter.
Survivors are her children, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She will be missed but remembered by all for her strength, determination and devotion to faith and family.
