Brooklyn Elizabeth Popken, infant daughter of Jeff and Lisa Popken was born September 13, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Brooklyn’s strong will to live kept her with her family for 10 days. She went home to heaven while in her mommy and daddy’s arms and surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2008.
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10am Saturday, September 27th at St. John’s Catholic Church in Norwalk with burial following at Norwalk Cemetery. Brooklyn’s family will greet friends Friday from 5-8pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
In addition to her daddy and mommy, Brooklyn is survived by her sisters Alexis and Laikyn; her grandparents William Brown, Duane and Sharon Popken; her great grandma Monica Brown and many other loving family members.
A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that touched Brooklyn’s life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My daughter has twins that were born at 24 weeks up here at Mercy. Crystal is still here in the NICU and Jaiden was sent to Iowa City. I wanted to let you know as a grandma to a set of preemies that I will pray for you and your family.
