Ernest Brooks

Ernest J. Brooks, 56, of Des Moines passed away on September 20, 2008 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center after a brief illness. Ernie has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 23rd.
He was currently the Pastor at Waukee Baptist Church, but has been in faithful service to the ministry since he was 18. Ernie enjoyed spending time with people and serving the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Dorothy, his mother Lorene Brooks of Arkansas his daughter Misty (Bill) McGurgan of New Jersey and their son Liam, her daughter Mandi Ownby (Jake Kalkhoff) of Manning and their children Makenzi and Caleb as well as his brother Donald Lee Harkreader of Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Brooks.
The family would like to thank the medical staff at Iowa Methodist for their care and compassion and all the family and friends for their comfort and support. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
