Georgia Sickles

Georgia died peacefully in her sleep on September 18 at Bright Kavanagh House at age 101. She died as she lived: Not wanting to miss a moment (she was alert and interactive until the last few days ); she held on tenaciously to life engaged in life until her prayers that she die peacefully in her sleep were finally answered. She lived a good life. She was active until the end still doing volunteer work until she fell on her birthday on August 14. She loved her home, her family, her friends, and her church and was grateful for all God had blessed her with. She was a model for many. Her final gift: She has donated her body to the D.M. University for research/ learning.
Georgia is survived by her sons, Philip O. Sickles (Diana) of Des Moines, Donn K. Sickles (Sonja) of Boise, ID, Richard W. Sickles (Vicky) of Grand Prairie, TX. She has six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, September 25th at Central Presbyterian Church with a lunch to follow. She and the family request no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church.
