Te Lu

Service Details

Mr. Te Lu was born December 18, 1940 in Cho Lon, Vietnam (aka Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City). He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.

Te was a machinist and a business owner. He manufactured oil lamps in Vietnam. Te was a great provider and always wanted to provide the very best to his family. A good example of this was in 1978, Te had an opportunity to go on a journey to hunt for freedom and he chose to stay in Vietnam to care for his family. He sent his teenage daughter, Linh Lu Le on that journey instead. Te and his family reunited with his daughter in 1988 and they settled in Des Moines, Iowa. He went to work immediately after arriving in Iowa. Once again, he wanted to provide and care for his family. Te retired in early 2000s and enjoyed his time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Ha T. Lu (Quang); daughters, Linh Lu (Phuoc) Le, Linh T. and Yen Lu; son, Vinh (Laura) Lu; grandchildren, Jon and Justin Le, Jasmin, Caitlin and Jayden Lu; sisters, Thu Lu, Nu Lu and LuAnna (Tony) Wong; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Quan Ha; mother, Tran Lu; and his brothers.

There will be a visitation Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a time of sharing. Private family burial will take place at Jordan Cemetery at a later date.
