Service Details
Glendora Proctor, 90, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Ave. with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Glendora was born August 9, 1918 in Story County, Iowa to Guy and Cornelia Rod. She was a trust officer with Brenton Bank for over 25 years before her retirement in 1983 and a member of Central Lutheran/Capitol Hill Lutheran Church in Des Moines and First Lutheran Church in Newton. Glendora loved celebrating Christmas Eve.
Glendora is survived by her sons, Richard (Jil) Proctor of Johnston and Bruce (Jeannine) Proctor of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Jean Cleere of Newton; seven grandchildren, Rhonda (Jim) McCleary, Sara and Aaron Hobbs, Todd (Tammy) Blair, Cherie (Jason) Morey, Scott and Jeff Cleere; nine great-grandchildren, Stefan, Rebekah, Tatum, Hannah, Emily, Jamie, James, Matt and Stephanie; sisters, Myrle Shaw and Helen (Ed) Heusinkveld; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Myron Rod; son-in-law, Jim Cleere; and husband, Lester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Park Centre in Newton, Iowa.

Well it is hard to believe that the good lord took your mother/friend so soon. I can see her now just getting her hair done, grabbing my hand for a shake and her smile on her face. Saying hello. Or just seeing her at the table with her hot tea,milk and cransberry juice . She was a joy to have her in assisted living. She was from Story City where my father came from . So we connected. I will remember the words "UFF DA". You had a great mom and grandma. My prayer are with you . . chris oartwieg/cna/wesley parkcenter. assisted living.
