Maxine B. Northway

Maxine Betty Northway, age 96, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Taylor House Hospice.

Maxine was born August 26, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Charles Northway Nov 18, 1938 they were married 66 years. She worked for Des Moines Independent schools for 45 years. She enjoyed camping and going south for the winters.

She is survived by sons, Ernie (Susan) Northway and Ivan (Sue) Northway, five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by husband Charles and son Jay.

There will be a visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A graveside service will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, November 14, at 11:00 a.m.
