Norman Pearson

Norman G. Pearson, 79, of Mitchellville passed away Wednesday at the Taylor House.
Norman was born February 21, 1929 in Des Moines to Gerald and Louise Pearson (Daniels). He was a 1947 graduate of Mitchellville High School and married Annabel Cook on May 7, 1950. Norman was an Elder Emeritus in the Mitchellville Christian Church, board member of the Mitchellville Co-op and a former Beaver Township Trustee. His life’s passion in farming came from his love of the land and desire to be a good steward. He enjoyed woodworking, collectable tractors, but above all, Norman enjoyed spending time with his family.
Norman is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann; his children, David Pearson of San Clemente, CA, Luanne Scott of Waukee, Linda (Tim) Ploog of Chisago City, MN, Karen (Bill) Tadewald of Hopkins, MN and Scott (Missy) Pearson of Mitchellville; his grandchildren, Katie, Amy, Becca, Sarah, Megan, Ryan, Connor and Kaylee; his great-granddaughter, Ella; and his brother, Don (Doris) Pearson of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant son, Stephen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor House or the Mitchellville Christian Church in loving memory of Norman.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday evening at Hamilton’s Mitchellville Funeral Home, 303 Center Avenue S. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Mitchellville Christian Church, 203 3rd Street NW; burial will take place in Mitchellville Cemetery.
