Ruth Josephine Dobbins, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, November 3, 2018.
Ruth was born September 16, 1925 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was baptized in 1967 and was a faithful Christian. Her church, Corinthian Baptist Church, was her second home. She enjoyed gardening, music, watching westerns, and chatting with friends and neighbors.
Ruth is survived by her beloved son, Kerwin Dobbins of Des Moines, grandson, Cornelius Dobbins of Altoona, and a host of extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dobbins, parents, and her siblings.
Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

My condolences to the family of Ruth J. Dobbins. A word of comfort in your time of sadness, "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord will wipe the tears from all faces."(Isaiah 25:8) He has promised to reunite us with our loved ones by means of a resurrection. John 5:25-29, "....the hour is coming when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God.....and come out to a resurrection of life."
