Joseph P. Webb, 92, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa. He was born June 7, 1926, on the family farm in Sigourney, Iowa, to William and Eleanora Webb.

Joe’s passion was farming. He worked the land on his own farm in Clarion and Boone for a number of years until an injury prevented him from farming full time. He then went on to work for Link Associates as a bookkeeper and fleet manager for many years, and also worked for Gary Lilly, VW Auto Dealer, for 20 years. Even though he no longer had his own farm, Joe continued to help his brother with the annual harvest well into his late 80’s. He was a member of Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus (3rd and 4th Degree), and Des Moines Men’s Garden Club.

Joe is survived by his children, Marcela Webb, Mike (Janet) Webb and Larry (Joanne) Webb; stepdaughters, Kila (Tom) Christensen and Gale (Karen) Charlotte; grandchildren, Marci (Kelly) Cordaro, Nicki (Dan) Jensen, Meggan Christensen, Eric (Karen) Gillaspy, Jason (Christine) Webb, Lisa Webb, Steven (Stacy) Webb, Erika Kvam (Jon Maj), Peter Kvam, Krista (Nate) Webb, Justin Webb, Abbie (Andrew) Martin, Ashley (Evan) Stamey and Joshua (Heather) Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Webb; many nieces and nephews, as well as other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; son, Bro. Vincent Daniel Webb, OBB; stepson, Kelly Gillaspy; brothers, Claude Michael, James and Edward Webb; and sister, Oda Sheedy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW in Altoona, with a 7 p.m. Rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus, and a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Ss. John and Paul Catholic Church, 1401 1st Avenue South. Burial will follow services at Highland Memory Gardens.
