Jeanette R. Williams

Jeanette R. Williams was born August 29, 1921 in Frederic, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the age of 97.

Jeanette graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1940. She married Harry M. Williams on June 3, 1945, and shared 72 wonderful years together until his passing in 2017.

Jeanette worked for the City of Des Moines in the Smoke Abatement Department prior to working at Iowa-Des Moines National Bank/Norwest Bank, where she retired from on August 29, 1983.

In retirement, she enjoyed recording her genealogy and learning about her Swedish heritage. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, whether by motorhome or cruise ship, visiting 42 countries on 5 continents.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Judy Town, Larry Williams, and Ronald Williams; grandchildren, Stacey, Brian, Brent, Victoria, Spencer, Veronica and Michaela; ten great-grandchildren; brother, William C. Wilson; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Wilson and Ruth M. Wilson; son-in-law, Richard M. Town; and brother, Earnest Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with a visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow services at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
