Michael D. "Mike" Scully

Michael D. “Mike” Scully, age 74, of Valley Junction passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Mike was born in Fort Dodge, IA on June 10th, 1944 to Vera (Kness) Scully and John Edward Scully.
Mike graduated from Fort Dodge High School. After high school Mike served in the United States Army for a number of years. After the military Mike owned Need A Plumber that he ran for over 50 years.
He is survived by his wife Terri Scully, former wife Nancy Scully, brother Denny (Mary Beth) Alpers, sisters Patty (Chris) Vittello and Julie (Bob) Franklin, children Kimberly Barton, Michael Todd Scully, Tina Scully, Toby (Sally) Scully, Trenton (Sondra) Scully, Ed Stanley, and Kyle Scully. Mike is also, survived by his grandkids Toby, Trey, Shelbey, Haley S., Courtney, Katie, Haley B., and Kaylee, one great-granddaughter Everly Jo, along with many cousins, friends and extended family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Vera (Kness) Scully and John Edward Scully, step-father Ernie Alpers, brother’s Richard and John, and daughter Kyla.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family invites everyone to join them for a reception following visitation held at Cutty’s Campground Clubhouse, 2500 SE 37th St A., Grimes.

Terri, we are so sorry for the loss of Mike. He became a dear friend of ours many years ago, and we will miss him tremendously! Our love and thoughts are with you and the rest of the family!

Worked with Mike for close to 30 yrs. He made a impression on me as a hard worker. A kind man,a teacher who new his craft, and great person I will truly miss you. Rest in peace Mike
