Marjorie Green

Marjorie Ann Green, 87, passed away on October 26, 2018. She was born in Des Moines, on April 24, 1931 to Catherine and Walter Hiatt.
Marjorie was the secretary at Highland Park Presbyterian Church for many years. She had a sweet tooth, loved baking, was an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. She could never make a small amount of anything. Marjorie also loved her puppy, Sadie, camping, fishing and attending the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Deb (Dale) Rieck; grandchildren, Cole (Katie) Rieck, Holly (Branden) Schnur, Ryan (Amanda) Neff, Joshua (Reagan) Neff and Ashley Neff; great grandchildren, Jack, Eli, Blake, Ella and Sofia; numerous nephews and nieces along with many loving relatives and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cleo Halderman and Robert Green; daughter, Lori Neff; son, Jerry Halderman; parents, Walter and Catherine; brothers, Geroge, Jim, Jack, Walt and Jerry; and sister, Sarah.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the funeral home.
Following the service, please join the family for a gathering in honor of Marjorie at the home of Cole and Katie Rieck, 10068 NE 88th Street, Bondurant.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Marjorie was a wonderful caring person. When I did some work for her, she would always talk about her family and we would share stories about our kids and grandchildren. Her stories reflected the love she had for her family. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayer are with you.
