Inara Marie Nagla
Granger, IA
Inara “Ina” Nagla, age 72, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Granger Nursing and Rahab in Granger, Iowa.
Ina was born August 14, 1946 in Germany to Stanislaus and Taisa (Kalans) Nagla. She was very compassionate and loving, and a little sarcastic, which added to her charm. She had an “open heart, open home” policy. If there was anyone in need, whether a friend or a stranger, she welcomed them in for as long as they needed until they could get back on their feet again. Ina was extremely crafty and resourceful. She would paint, crochet, knit, do ceramics, and refurbish items. You name it – she put her artistic flair on it. Ina always made everyone feel like her “favorite” everywhere she went. Above all else, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Her brothers held a special place in her heart as well as she helped to raise them.
Ina is survived by her children, Lisa (Jay) Knapp, Mike (Libby) Jeffries, and Sean (Jackie) Jeffries; grandchildren, Nikita, Nikoli, Natalee, Nathen, Nolen, Jesi, Joseph and Leland; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Arnis, Valdis and George Nagla; other loving relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanislaus and Taisa Nagla and her brothers, John and Anton Nagla.
There will be a visitation Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Private burial of her urn will take place at Glendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
