Raymond Woods

Ray Woods 86, passed away September 11, 2008 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Per his request, his body has been donated to Des Moines University and a memorial service will be held 1 pm Monday, September 15th at The First Christian Church in Adel.
Ray was born and raised in Indianola and worked on Airplanes in the Army. He was an artist with Meredith Publishing for 36 years and during his retirement years, he enjoyed creating and finding a use for everything.
He is survived by his daughter, Norma Byg Conrath of Orlando, FL and son, Robert Byg of Hollywood, CA; brother, Orville Woods of Fullerton, CA; his grandchildren, Lorrie (Ben) Thompson, Michael Conrath, Kelly Murphy, Chris Murphy, Robert Murphy and Peter (Sue) Murphy; 15 great grandchildren and his dear friend, Mary Price. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Woods.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Warren and Dallas County Conservation Board. Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
