Carole Jeane Andersen, 64, of West Des Moines, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Lord’s Day, September 7, 2008. This followed a painful battle with endometrial cancer for over 2 ½ years.
Carole was born on March 7, 1944 to Donald and Edith Wilkins in Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her father at age 12 and her mother when she was 20. She graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1961. After school, she was married to Dan Andersen on April 9, 1965. Dan and Carole adopted 2 boys, Michael in 1971 and Bradley in 1977. Carole spent most of her adult life making a home and taking care of her family.
Carole was known by her loving service to her family and friends. Her life was reflected in her final words “I love you”. Carole had a special love for her grandchildren, and longed for recovery primarily to be able to be a grandmother to them. However, her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, placed at an early age, was always before her. She knew to trust Him and accept His will as best for her.
She is survived by her husband, Dan; son, Michael (Joleen) and their children Brittany and Emily; son, Bradley (Brianne) and their children Alana, Ezekiel and Issac; her brother, Glenn (Myra) Wilkins; her life-long friend Kay Blocher (Jim), and many dear aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dear Dan and family,
Through Carole's illness I've thought and prayed for you. Can't imagine what you've been through. Years ago at Shirley Hare's funeral, this verse was read and hit me. "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;" II Cor 4:17. Shirley had suffered so much. She's going to have a big weight in glory. I wasn't with Carole. She must have suffered so much, too.

Dear Anderson Family,
Zebo and I sorrow with you and lift you all up to the Lord in prayer. We are sorry for you and your familys loss but rejoice at Caroles gain.
Soon and very soon we will meet our Saviour face to face and then we will be reunited around the throne of God with our loved ones. Glory be to God in the highest!
When my mother departed to be with Christ I was comforted as the Lord brought to mind these and other familiar verses.

John and I and our family extend our deep sympathy to you Dan, and all your family. This is hard to compute. The last time I remember seeing you all was in St. Louis maybe 3 years ago. We were at Hardees with Dad and Billie and my sister Anna Porter and we ran into you all accidentally. You all were in St. Louis to visit Bradley and Brianne and the children. We had such a happy, spontaneous visit. You both uplifted the rest of us.
It's all good for Carole now, but very very hard to think of your family without her. We lift you up to the God of all comfort for His tender care in this dark valley. May your many happy memories of her keep you facing forward toward the place where she is, and the incredible Person she is with, the Lord Jesus Himself.
Look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near. Luke 21:28

Dear Danny and family,
We were in Des Moines last week and visited with Donald and Marianne
and they told us about Carole. We have been praying for you and are
relieved to know that Lord took your dear wife home to heaven. I am sure
that you all will miss her very much. I have good memories of our
young people's days when we were all a pretty tight bunch. I often
think how the Lord blessed us with others of "like precious faith"
which helped to keep us out of the world. We have a second cousin of
Carole here in Buena Park. Again we send our love and sympathy.

Dear Dan and Family ...
Our hearts were saddened to hear of your dear Carole's HOMEgoing, but for her, she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior and for us, who are still here, this just makes our prayer of "Even so, COME Lord Jesus" much more eager and anxious to hear that shout, which we feel is OH so soon.
Donna and I have very fond memories of Carole and you, too, Dan, as young people there in the Des Moines Assembly ... oh the great times of Young People's Meetings, Sings, get togethers and just always anxious to be with one another, so with joy and anticipation of soon being reunited, we will continue to pray for you dear ones and keep looking Up and listening for that long awaited shout.

Dear Danny and family - I wish to express my sympathy. I have many wonderful memories of Carole and know she will be missed greatly, but we remember that she is now free of pain and in the loving presenct of her Lord and Savior. What a reunion we can look forward to when Jesus calls us home to be with him.

Dearest Uncle Danny and family; Know that we are praying for you all during this time of extreme grief. We all have good memories of our sweet Aunt Carole and we remember the good times we had years ago. We know too beyond the shadow of a doubt that one day very soon we will all be re-united in the "twinkling of an eye" to never say goodbye again. The Wilkens/Reeves/Andersen clan in Glory is growing one by one, and can't you just imagine how my dad, little Grandma Reeves, Grandma and Grandpa Andersen, and the rest of the crowd welcomed Aunt Carole when she arrived and how much they're all enjoying the company of our gracious Saviour right now! Her pain has gone, her eternal joy has begun and she is finally home. We love you all and pray that God will comfort you as only He can during this intense time of loss.
