Service Details
Colletta Mae Christiansen, 80, died at her home Sunday, September 7, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Rising Sun Cemetery.
Colletta was born March 8, 1928 in Lacona, Iowa to Glenn and Flossie Baker. She lived in the Des Moines area for over 60 years and was a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church.
Colletta is survived by her sons, Tracy (Barbara) Christiansen and Lonnie (Millie) Christiansen; daughter, Linda (David) Baessler; sisters, Eloise Bauer and Janice McCallough; brother, Orlo Baker; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: two sisters; three brothers; and her husband, George.

We wish to extend our sympathys to the family of Colletta Christiansen, especially to Linda, Tracy, and Lonnie. Also to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We know how special she was to her grandchildren because some of them are our's also. We know she was a special lady who loved the Lord and her family also. We look foreward to the day we will see her again in heaven.

that her heart and memories will live with you all forever. Start a memory
for each day since her passing and write in that book how much you miss her
and how much you love her. It does help.

Colletta is our aunt. I am Janice's daughter. I just want to let you know that the family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Believe me we know how difficult it is to lose a parent. Just losing dad has taken a toll on all of us. We miss him dearly. I have a saying that I say to myself almost every day.."dont cry over the loss, smile of all the happy memories"
