Frances Vigness

Frances Irene Vigness, 96, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at USA Healthcare in Urbandale. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 4003 2nd Ave. Des Moines, IA, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Monday evening at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Des Moines, IA.
Frances was born July 23, 1912 to Theodore and Wilhelmina (Bote) Ferber. She worked for Weeks & Leo until her retirement in the late 70’s. Frances was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Lila (Darwin) Pollard and Verna Moore; step-son, Stan (Judy) Vigness; step-daughter, Andrea (Duane) Byerly; sisters, Dorothy Borchert and Virginia Isenberg; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew T. Vigness; her children’s father, Gerhardt Baumann, and her sister, Gladys Baumann.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.
