Luella Winterberg

Luella Mae Winterberg, 92, passed away Wednesday, September 3. 2008 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center surrounded by many family members. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am Saturday at the Church.
Luella was born June 14, 1916 to Eunice and Roy Garner in Des Moines. She retired from Younkers Department Store. Luella was a member of Staves Memorial United Methodist Church as well as the Rebbekah Lodge.
She loved going on her weekly outings with her cousins, Lucille and Betty.
She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren. She liked doing crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.
Luella is survived by her sons, Donald (Catherine) of Des Moines and Dale (Doris) of West Des Moines; her grandchildren, Teresa (Tom) Gish of Altoona, Kristine (Mike) Raibikis of Stuart, Monica (Jeff) Jarvis of Indianola and Jason (Dori) Winterberg of Des Moines; her 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her brother, Chuck and his wife, Gloria Garner of Perth, Australia and her grandson, Randy Winterberg.
