Donald Harrison

Donald E. Harrison, 73, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Mercy Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, with burial at Canfield Cemetery in Ivy. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Donnie was born November 15, 1934 in Altoona to Mary and Virgil Harrison. He worked for many years as a pressman at the Des Moines Register until he began his own business, Harrison Trenching Inc. in 1968, where he worked until his retirement in 2005.
Donnie is survived by his sons, Scott (Terri) and Kenny (Julie Ann) Harrison, both of Des Moines; daughters, Julie (Mike) Harrison of Des Moines and Dee Susi of Altoona; sisters, Norma Mitchell and Betty Perry, both of Altoona; grandchildren, Mandi, Lindsey, Kourtney, Lisa, Jake, Dillon, Kendrick, and Mikayla; and many other family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Virgil Harrison.
