Marian Huss

Marian Jean Huss, 71, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2006 at Mercy Hospice Johnston after a long courageous battle with dementia.
Marian was born November 10, 1935 in Carroll, Iowa to Peter and Carolyn Sabus. She attended St. Angela’s High School in Carroll and then moved to Des Moines at age 18 to work for Look Magazine, where she met her future husband, Richard Huss. They were married July 23, 1955, in Carroll Iowa. Marian loved tending to her flowers and family, she also worked in catering for many years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
She was the loving mother of five children and had 10 grandchildren. Marian is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dick Huss: daughters, Maureen (Dan) Shannon of Urbandale, Diane (John) Bellizzi of Cumming, Rachelle (Scott) Ririe of Chesterfield MO: and sons Richard Huss Jr. of Coralville and Kirk (Anna) Huss of Omaha NE. Her grandchildren are Cory, Tyler and Colleen Shannon, Angela Bellizzi, Andy, Mike, Elise and James Ririe and Ben and Annie Huss. Marian is also survived by her sister and two brothers, Joyce (Denis) Tigges of Carroll, Bill (Betty) Sabus of Johnston and Larry (Marge) Sabus of Bennington NE, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, on Thursday December 28, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday December 29, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with burial at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church, Hospice of Central Iowa or Bishop Drumm Care Facility.
