Service Details
Harold L. Wilson, 66, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Harold was born June 16, 1942 in Des Moines to David and Leona (Wheeler) Wilson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. Harold owned and operated his own delivery service.
Harold is survived by his daughter, DeeDee (Chuck) Burt; grandsons, Chad, Colby and Noah Burt; and his brothers, Ron, Harley, Paul and Ed Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Wilson and nephew, Mark Wilson.

DeeDee, Chuck, Chad, Colby, Noah and Harley, Ronnie, Paul and Eddie, just wanted you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Harold was a very special person, and I am so thankful to have been not only his sister-in-law, but also his friend. He was and will always will be an inspiration to me! Take care and God Bless! Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you are grieving and missing your dad and grandpa. Let your faith and family and friends hold you up during this time. You are loved by many and that is truly a wondrous thing.
Find comfort in how much your dad loved you, DeeDee. I have no doubt you were the pride and light of his life and brought him joy each and every day. I'm sure he's filling heaven with stories of you and Chuck and the boys this very minute!
