Lori Anne Lynch
October 09, 2018
Lori Anne Lynch (Maldonado), 54, of Des Moines passed away suddenly in her sleep on October 9, 2018.
Lori was born on May 17, 1964 to parents Daniel and Diana Maldonado. The second oldest of three girls, she grew up and lived on the Southside of Des Moines her entire life. She graduated from Des Moines Abraham Lincoln High School class of ’82, and went on to attend classes at the University of Iowa.
After having met in high school, and coming back together in college, Lori married John Lynch and in 1985 the two welcomed the first of their three children, Brenna. In 1990 the trio became a quartet with the addition of Kailee Anne, and in the Spring of 1995, her only son, Jordan rounded out the bunch. In the summer of 2015, she gained her greatest and most cherished title of grandmother when her miracle of a grandbaby Briella Kay was born.
Left behind are we, the heartbroken, her family and friends that loved her to the moon and back: her loving parents, Daniel and Diana; children, Brenna (Chris), Kailee, and Jordan; sisters, Lynn (Don) and Lee Ann (Ray); her sweet grandbaby, Briella Kay; nieces and nephews, Jade, Nicholas, Kelcey, Noah, Natalie, Sarah, and Leo; the entire Lynch Family; and countless extended family members and friends.
Tonight our LoLo will be cuddling her beloved, heavenly fur baby, Max.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home on Thursday, October 18, 2018. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward funeral expenses, the family, Powell Chemical Dependency Center, Briella Palmer’s College Fund, or an organization of your choosing.
Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lori's passing. I met Lori when we both worked for Met Life Investors. We had an immediate connection from our first day there. We enjoyed sharing stories about our families. When I moved to Arizona in 2004, she gave me wind chimes to hang on my patio to remember her by and Jordan made a bracelet for me out of pipe cleaners. She truly loved her family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Lori's passing last week. I had connected with her on Facebook earlier this year. It was around 37 years ago when I met her at their house while I talked with sister Lynn. Lori had just been named LULAC queen and she was so pretty and nice. She remembered me from all those years ago, with some clarification needed, and I enjoyed our brief exchanges on FB this year. For me to remember a singular event all these years later shows that she made a rather memorable impression. I am so sorry and send my thoughts and sympathy to Diane, Danny, Lynn, Leann, my Lincoln 1973 classmate Anna, and Lori's many family members and friends. I sincerely hope and wish that the days ahead will be filled with fond remembrances of her life, amidst the grief, and that her soul will be part of all of you in the coming days and weeks. Lori - as I believe that all human thoughts are impulses sent throughout the Universe, I send my sincere wishes to a 'brief' friend who was well-loved in her life.

What a beautiful person inside and out! Her suffering is over and now our suffering begins. Heaven has gained an angel, a great friend, great daughter, sister , and a great Mother and Grandmother.
Gone, but not forgotten.
Your family is in my prayers.

Lori was my first supervisor at American Republic. I had been out of the work force for 13 years as a stay at home mom. She was so very kind and patient with me, as she trained me. When I would make a mistake she would kindly say, "Don't worry, there is nothing that you can do, that we can't undo!" Because of her graciousness, I have now been working there for 22 years. I remember her with great fondness !

It's hard to find the right words to say about someone as special as Lori. She was full of love for her family and friends. When she spoke of her kids, grandbaby, nieces, and nephews, her eyes would light up and you could see the warmth radiate from her heart. She always had a special place in her heart for my daughter Cora, because of her Gramma Cora. And Lori will always have a special place in our hearts. I will miss her every single day.

I have very fond memories of Lori when we were students at Kurtz Jr. High. In recent years we reconnected cross country on Facebook. We are all better people for having known Lori. We will move forward, because that is what she would want. We go forward with a piece of our heart missing.
