I am so sorry not to have met my cousin Richard Sanders. Our family is related to him and his family and I did not find out until after my father passed in 2007. To my family that i have never met. You are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was such a good friend of my Dad's (Gass), I hope they are hanging out again after 34 years.
I loved your Dad's laugh and his sense of humor. He was always kind and a gentleman.
My Chiropractor's nurse was just mentioning him last month, as he and my Dad used to hang out at the Hotel on 6th Avenue in the restaurant where she worked at that time.
RIH Captain Sanders!
Sending prayer's and love to your family!

Richard,
I absolutely loved getting to know you the past 3 years that I was blessed to be your nurse. Who would have thought you would be my dads (Kelly Willis) captain, and then all of these years later I got to work with you. I loved hearing all of your stories. I loved the story of you and Dad chasing raccoons out of your attic, and how Beverly would always laugh at my dad. You were special. I will miss your laugh. I will miss your orneriness. Ill never forget the day when we figured out that you knew my dad as just a young cop from DMPD. Such a small world and it came full circle.
To Brandy and Gerry:
You guys are wonderful. I appreciate you both and all that you did for us. Richard was something truly special. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am deeply saddened I am unable to attend either service. You are in my heart!
May God Bless You and Keep You.

Another extraordinary legend from the DMPD has gone on to his just reward. Captain Sanders was a very fair man to work for. And for that reason, he was respected by all who knew him.
His family should be very proud of the service he gave to this community. We were all blessed to work with him and have him consider us his friends.

To my Loving Uncle's Family. I know your hearts are filled at this time of sadness, but just remember the wonderfully man he was; his laugh, his smile, the joy in his eyes when he talked about his family. These are all the things we will miss. Love you Uncle Richard, thanks for naming me all those years ago. May you rest in peace with your loving sisters that preceded you.
