Harold Dean Lee
September 25, 2018
Harold Dean Lee, 51, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Dean was born August 6, 1967 to Margaret (Martie) and Harold Lee. He had two sisters, Nona and Rayma. Dean graduated in 1985 from East High School and later received an Associate’s Degree in electronics, which led to his Journeyman Electrician Certification. He worked for different companies in the Des Moines area and was presently employed with A1 Electrical Service, contracted at Titan Tire.
Dean was an avid fisherman and loved any opportunity to fish with his family and friends. Dean was married to Shelley Thompson in 1989 and they were blessed with three children: Amber (Travis) Chapman, Justin (Tricia) Lee and Kaytlin (Dustin) Barrington. His grandchildren, who he loved with all his heart, are Joshua, Harleigh and Willabelle Lee, Piper, Gracie and Stella Chapman, Jayce Lambert, Roman, Travis and Jasper Barrington.
Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Harold, sister Rayma and wife Shelley.
Dean had a big heart and was ready to help anyone. He had a kind, loving spirit and a goofy sense of humor. His practical jokes are legendary, as his kids and friends can attest to. No one will take his place and he will be missed with every memory.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., followed immediately by funeral services at 11 a.m., on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Union Park Baptist Church, 821 Arthur Avenue, Des Moines, with a luncheon after. Cremation will follow the services. Burial of the urn will take place at North River Community Cemetery in Warren County, Iowa at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Dean.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Dean passing. It has been a difficult year for the family. I talked to Dean at Janies viewing, and remarked at how much he looked like his dad. He was so tickled that I had said that to him. I will be available to assist the family in any way I can. Marty has my phone numbers, and please feel free to call on me if you need extra hands. I send my love and prayers to all the family. Sandy
