Donna R. Hogbin
September 19, 2018
Donna Rae Hogbin, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Kavanagh on 56th.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Valley Junction Church of God, 321 Elm Street, West Des Moines, Iowa 50266, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Donna was born June 1, 1947 in Casey, Iowa to George and Opal Zanders. Family was everything to Donna. She was primarily a stay-at-home mom, taking pride in caring for her husband and family. She never said no to babysitting her grandchildren and she loved to spoil them. She had a good heart and always saw the good in everyone. Donna loved the Holidays and never missed the opportunity to send a card. She will be remembered for her famous homemade vegetable soup, and her family will remember fondly how she was always an hour early to everything, and how her dog, Bandit was the love of her life.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Darryl) Moore, Steven Hogbin and Robert Hogbin; grandchildren, Marquice, Desmond, Charles and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Armani, Jalen, MacKenzie, Lillianna and Abigail; siblings, Richard (Kim) Anderson and Linda Kimm; brother-in-law, Ron (Linda) Hogbin and Tom (Melinda) Heater; and host of nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, George and Opal Zanders and her husband, Steven Hogbin.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff at Kavanagh House for their wonderful compassionate care of Donna during her stay there.

She was a wonderful woman that will be missed dearly and by many. I'm gonna miss visiting you and seeing your beautiful smiling face. I'm sure you are having the best time with your husband and feeding Bandit all his favorite treats. Life will never be the same without you in it. Never said it to you but I love you like you were my real gma. Xoxo
