Randy Heer

Alton Randolph ‘Randy’ Heer, 2nd child of Alton & LaRraine Heer was born on December 18, 1948, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

On September 17, 2018, Randy passed away in Des Moines, Iowa in the presence of his family. He was 69 years old. Randy was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Rene’, parents Alton and LaRraine, a sister Angelica and brothers Mitchell and Jonathan, Nephew Tim Maas and Great Nephew Solomon Kunert.

Randy graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1967. After high school Randy went to work for Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel building water towers and was a member of the Boilermakers Union. He then completed his Carpenters Apprenticeship and joined the Des Moines Carpenter Union.

Those left to honor the memory of Randy include: his sisters Candy Maas Anderson (Roger) of Clear Lake, IA & Florence, AZ, Melanie Kunert of Des Moines, IA and Nicolette (Bill) Manhart of Omaha, NE, and brothers Brad (Tonja) of Glen Rock, PA, Perry (Vickie) of Liberty Hill, TX, Courtney of Des Moines, IA, Tony of Des Moines, IA and Todd (Shelley) of Mingo, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, September 20th at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd, Des Moines followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Family will greet guests one hour prior to the funeral.
