Our relationship went back to '64,when I spent many a week-end nights at their house and some week days and nights during the summer. Recall as a child being fascinated by her accent, and being checked on while Lynn and I read until the wee hours in Lynn's room. She made hot dogs and lemonade for us to sell when we held a "zoo" in their backyard to help fund the beginnings of the Des Moines Zoo. The best was yet to come as I became an adult, and got to experience her charm, positivity, bounciness, laughter and conversation. She was divine, and will live on so in my memory. Every time I think of her it makes me thankful for the happy memories she contributed. She will be very much missed.

Words can't express how saddened we are to hear of your loss. Frieda was such a warm and fun loving lady. She always greeted us with that beautiful smile and made us feel welcomed when we came into her home.

Oh how we loved Frieda! My kids called her Grandma Frieda even though she was not their Grandma-she made us feel like family. My deepest condolences to Dave, Deb, Lynn, Matt and all her Grands and Greats. A little bit of light and sparkle left our world on Monday. ((Hugs))
