Matthew Hartquist

It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Reed Hartquist announces his passing on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the age of 42.

Matt was born in Sarasota, Florida, raised in Des Moines, Iowa, and currently resided in Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he was employed at Murfreesboro Electric Department. In 2016, Matt graduated with Magna Cum Laude distinction from Strayer University with a degree in Business Administration. Matt brought everyone joy, whether through conversation, laughter, or song. He was also an avid fan of the Florida Gators and Dallas Cowboys, but what made him beam with pride was his family.

Matt will be lovingly remembered by many, including his wife, Tiffany; daughter, Chloe; son, Hunter; parents, Larry and Dolores Hartquist; father-in-law, David Colgrove; brothers, Eddie (Prima), David (Lisa), and Troy (Mia); brother-in-law, Derek Bough; and sister-in-law, Valerie Colgrove. Matt will also be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
