Jimmy (Chim) Pierce

Jimmy Michael Pierce, 44, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. He was born May 3, 1974 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was an intelligent, funny guy and he will be remembered for his love of animals and his enjoyment of fishing, cooking and woodworking. Jimmy was employed at the Iowa Events Center where he worked in Building Operations.

Jimmy is survived by his mother Margaret Pierce, brother Ronald (Heather) Dyer, sisters Teresa Dyer and Billie Dyer and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Pierce.

Family will greet friends from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 3820 SW 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50315. Graveside committal service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA 50321.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the ARL.

Jimmy was a very special friend. We loved him and will miss him. Always enjoyed him when working at LaPizza House. May be rest in peace with his Dad in heaven. Love you Marty prayers for your family at your loss.

I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Jimmy was like part of our family. He did so many things with us while growing up. Always loved animals and cooking. He brought us chocolate chip cookies that he made. In later years distance made seeing each other not as often but we always kept in touch and I hope that he knew how much I loved him.
