Pete Adams

Pete Henry Adams, 78, passed away at Methodist Medical Center on September 8, 2018 from COPD. He was born in Vienna, Austria on August 16, 1940. At the age of 14 he legally immigrated to this country and later proudly became a U. S. citizen.

Pete enjoyed his winter home in La Feria, TX, camping, travel, visiting museums and points of historical interest, garage sales and working in his shop. Pete proudly served his country for 4 years in the Seabees. He worked at Firestone and retired from the State of Iowa having worked at the Governor’s Mansion and Camp Dodge. He was a former member of the Za Ga Zig Shrine and the Masonic Home Lodge 370.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, step-son Dan Olson of California, step-daughter Lori Stenstrom of Henry, IL, grandsons Colby Olson and Ian Olson of California, sisters-in-law Mary Davis of Des Moines and Rachel Carney of Georgetown, TX, step-brother Mike (Virgina) Csader of Mesa, AZ, and step-sister Mary Cunningham of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his mother Leona Bale, brother Henry Bubendorfer, sister-in-law Sara Royce, and brother-in-law Joseph Davis.

His body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be held from 4-7PM, Friday, September 14th at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to American Lung Association or the Animal Rescue League.
