Gerald Crooks, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born on January 16, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Gerald proudly served his country in the US Marines. He enjoyed all sports, antique cars, walking and had his pilot license and flew a small plane. Gerald and his father owned ECDI for 40+ years. He participated in starting many churches and Christian colleges around various states.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Jodi (Harold) Brock and Cristi Crooks; son-law, Larry Hudson; grandchildren, Travis Brock, Brandon Brock, Taylor Hudson, Darian Hudson, Alyssa Hudson and Calen Hudson; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Hudson; sister, JoAnn Davison; and many extended family and friends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Grace Crooks; and brother, David Dean Crooks.

Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter. Family dinner is sponsored by New Hope Assembly of God after the burial held at 6800 Townsend, Urbandale, IA.
