Mary Iwaszuk George, was born February 14, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to Samuel and Tillie Iwaszuk. She left on her final journey to Heaven on Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was 97 ½ years old. She graduated from Lucy Flower Technical High School in 1939.
Mary’s visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Her funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church, 305 E Howard St., Colfax. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Jr.; son, Joseph III; brothers, Michael, Alexander and Emil; brothers-in-law, Louis, John, Paul George, Andrew Cucuiat and Irving Stinson; and sisters-in-law, Agnes Iwaszuk, Marian, Shirley, Loretta George and Marianne Stinson.
Mary is survived by her son, Dennis (Jane) George; daughters, Jacqueline George and Laurie (Dan) Fenimore; grandchildren, Angela (Jimmy) Dotoli, Matt George, Kelly Hastings, Tyler (Gemma) Fenimore and Scott Fenimore; great-grandchildren; Jade, Nick, Madison, Estella and Henry; one great-great-grandson; brother-in-law, Patrick (Patricia) George; sisters-in-law, Rosa George and Lorraine Cucuiat; and many nieces and nephews of whom she knew all their names.
Memorials contributions may be made to either Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Santiago United Methodist Church.

Was so sorry to hear about Mary's passing. She was always so kind to everyone in "Santago". Especially to ornery boys in the neighborhood.Thoughts and prayers to all of Mary's family.
