Frances “Dottie” Irene Onder

Frances Onder, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Trinity Center At Luther Park. Frances was born the daughter of Joseph and Sophie Duquette on May 23, 1939 in Des Moines, where she remained a lifelong resident.

Dottie graduated from East High School class of 1957. She made many long lasting grade school friends and continued to meet with them to play cards once a month. Dottie processed claims at Marsh & McClennan Insurance and retired in 2011. She also, worked for Des Moines Club as a receptionist for many years. Dottie had a great love for the water, she enjoyed going to the beach and sunbathing at the pool. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughters, Cathy (Miguel) Moreira and Stephanie (Jim) Miller; grandchildren, Aaron (Brooke), Brianna, Jake and Ross; great-grandchildren, Grace and Kinnick; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and many special friends.

Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Don; son, John; two brothers; and five sisters.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 5th also, at the funeral home. Private family burial will be held at Glendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to either American Parkinson Disease Association or Iowa Environmental Council to help keep the water clean in memory of Dottie.
