Mary Rose Davenport, 81, passed away on August 20, 2008. She was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Elizabeth and Clifford Ott and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1945. Mary Rose worked for Amoco Credit Card Center as a Customer Service Representative. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star in Oskaloosa, West Des Moines Christian Church, and a volunteer with the Animal Rescue League. She enjoyed traveling and had been to all 50 states. A devoted mother and grandmother, Mary Rose enjoyed immensely, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Griffiths; granddaughters, Jennifer (Chad) King, Ashlee Griffiths, Elisabeth (Ron) Hardy, Kimberlee Griffiths; brother, James Ott; sister, Margaret (Dean) Mains; sister-in-law, Dena Ott; great-grandchildren, Kelcie and Charles King, Payton Hardy and Brayden Mulligan along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Irvin and Jerry Ott; sister-in-law, Geraldine Ott.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, visitation from 12 noon to 1 p.m., funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway. Memorial contributions may be made to Fountain West, Iowa Health Hospice or the Animal Rescue League.
