Bert Stanford

Bert M. Stanford Jr., passed away August 9, 2008 at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. in Des Moines.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; two daughters, Susan (Stephen) Sutton and Linda (Lyle) Clark; grandchildren, Bryan (Susie) Clark, Scott (Jaymi) Sutton, Christy (Jason) Engholm, and Eric Sutton; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Casey, Danielle, Rachelle, Kari, and Alexander.
Bert worked as a construction worker on many Iowa Highways, later becoming Propane Manager and driver for a local Oil Company, switching to Farmers Co-op. He retired in 1992 and moved to Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and Bert M. Stanford, Sr.; four brothers: Thomas, Steve, Marion and James Stanford; and one sister, Pauline (McClaran) Sanders.
