Marie Faber

Marie Faber, 103 (and ¾), passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Bickford Senior Community, West Des Moines. She was a longtime resident at Martina Place, Johnston, Iowa.

Marie was born November 19, 1914. She was a pillar of good works throughout the St. Peters Catholic Parish. She was a member of the Rosary Society and active with St. Peters Grade School, where all her children attended. Family was most important to Marie. She enjoyed the many family gatherings, loved playing cards, square and round dancing, garden club, cooking, and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Burris-Jones, Vern (Nancy) Faber, Mary Lou (Bill) Shaw, Elizabeth (Jack) Sjobeck, Michael (Sandra) Faber, and Rita Breier; 26 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Josephine Helland and Martha Robinson.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Joseph Faber; son, Harold D. Faber; daughter-in-law, Terri Faber; son-in-law, Fred Breier; grandchildren, Paul Anthony Burris and Patty Ann Faber.

Services will be held at St. Augustin Catholic Church, 545 42nd Street, Des Moines, IA.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 30, 2018, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Marie will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
