Debra Jill Kurschinski Hollis

Debra Jill Kurschinski Hollis died peacefully on August 27, 2018 in Madrid, IA surrounded by her loving family. Debra was born May 28, 1952 in Des Moines, IA. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1970 and then Drake University with a degree in computer science.

Debra had many interests including showing horses, a love of dogs, planting flowers, and playing in her koi pond. She was also an avid Wizard of Oz fan with numerous collectable items.

She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Hollis-Keene, Sarah (Blake) O’Brien, Eva Hollis, and Emily (Jason) Slaughter; grandchildren, Michael, Elizabeth, and Mackenzie; sisters, Nancy Helweg and Peggy Howell; and many other family members and friends. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Helen Kurschinski.

Services will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 3900 Ashworth Rd. in West Des Moines, IA on Friday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
