Mary Elizabeth Skeate

Mary Elizabeth Skeate was born on August 13, 1957 and passed away on August 21, 2018 in Urbandale, Iowa. She was 61 years old.

Mary met her husband Jeff Skeate in Decorah, Iowa and they married in 1975. Together they raised their son John and ran a family bookstore. Mary spent the majority of her life in the Decorah area where she enjoyed reading, cooking, various hobbies, and spending time with her many cats. In the last few years of her life, she enjoyed the company of her beloved cats, Sammy and Michelin.

Mary is survived by her son, John (Catherine) Skeate; her grandchildren, Andrew, Amy and Clara Skeate; brother, Jerry Champion; sister, Jenny Rinken; and nieces, Katy and Ella Rinken, and Devin Champion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Skeate.

Dear Jen, Dean, Katy and Miss Ella, We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of your sister Mary and Aunt. I only knew her threw your family. Looking at this picture, certainly you can see the resemblance. How beautiful. May perpetual light shine upon her Oh Lord.
