Paul G. James

Paul G. James, Jr., 91, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Kavanagh on 56th Hospice House in Des Moines. He was born on January 19, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa; the son of Paul G. James, Sr. and Helen James.

Paul attended school in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After graduation he served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany.

Paul returned home and attended Grinnell College and Drake University and then went on to attend the University of Iowa where he received his JD degree. He practiced law with his father for several years before becoming part owner of A-1 Beltman Moving & Storage. He then began investing in residential real estate which became his full-time career.

He married Marilyn Bloomburg in 1957. They have 4 children; Robert James, Judy (Mark) Patterson, Deb (Chris) Brown and Jeff James; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Paul has donated his body to Des Moines University for medical research.
