Christopher Lambert Caes

Christopher Lambert Caes passed away Friday, August 10, 2018. He was born April 17, 1976 in Moline, Illinois to Joan Caes and Charles Palmer.
Chris graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 1994, and later attended Loras College in Dubuque and the Iowa Culinary Institute in Ankeny.
His greatest goals in life were to love his family fiercely, to cook passionately and to treat those he encountered on his life’s journey with kindness and simple respect.
Chris was the Executive Chef at Glen Oaks Country Club and he had previously been the Executive Chef at the Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa and an Executive Sous Chef at the Wakonda Golf and Country Club in Des Moines.
He married Krista Pappaducas on April 14, 2001, and together they had four beautiful children, Liam Christopher (13), Owen Avery (12), Amelia Morgan (8) and Andrew Augustus (6).
In addition to his wife and children, Christopher is survived by his parents, Ken and Joan Caes of Marengo; siblings, Jennifer Caes of Johnston, Alicia Caes of Norway, Breezy (Collin) Flynn of Marengo, Dominic Caes of Marengo and Matthew (Sherri) Caes of Kansas; grandmother, Mary Lambert of Illinois; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Palmer and his grandparents, August and Alice Caes, Richard Lambert and Charles and Ginny Palmer.
The family will greet friends Friday, August 17, 2018 from 12 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to his family for his children’s education fund in loving memory of Christopher.

I was roommates with Chris and we had a lot of fun and stories over those years. I am sad he is gone and will always have respect for Chris. Love to Chris family in this time of need.
