Sandra Kay (Gibson) Sable

Sandra (Sandy) Kay Sable was born to Mildred M. Spray and Daniel C. Gibson on September 11, 1949, in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Medical Center on August 10, 2018.
Sandy was blessed with four older siblings: Sharon, Ronnie, Judy, and Dennis. She was also blessed with four younger siblings: Richard, Debby, David and Buddy. She graduated from North High School in 1968. She attended Heritage Assembly of God in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sandy was married in 1975 to Donald W. Sable and became stepmother to Don’s five children: Lonnie, Wes, Rhonda, Becky and Daryl Sable. Sandy was a devoted wife to Don until his death in 2002.
Sandy was employed at Riverview Manor as a CNA and then Des Moines General Hospital as a food service worker.
Sandy was a sweet and kind lady who loved Jesus and made Him the priority in her life. She always strived to find the best in each person she knew, and to love them with all her heart.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister, Sharon; brother, Ronnie; stepson, Lonnie, and her German Shepherd, Dusty.
Sandy is survived by her brothers and sisters: Judy, Dennis (Debbie), Richard (Debbie), Debby (Jerry), David (Joy) and Buddy (Michelle); her four stepchildren: Wes (Lois), Rhonda (Jack), Becky (Steve) and Daryl (Tarlena); her 8 grandchildren, Steven Sable, Joshua Mayhugh, Nicholas Mayhugh, Jennifer Sable, Michael Jesse, Elyse Sable, Zach Sable, and Jacob Sable; 1 great-granddaughter, Mylah Mayhugh; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by many friends at Polk City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Avon Cemetery at a later date.

I was sorry to hear that Sandy had passed away, but I know she is in a better place now with Jesus! We all grew up n Pentecostal Tabernacle, Phipps's, and what a life it was? I am glad Sandy knew the Lord and lived a happy life!
