David K. Gray

Dave Gray, 66, died August 9, 2018, with his wife by his side.

Dave worked at the VA Hospital for over 39 years and retired in 2010. He was loved by his family and friends and adored by many patients at the VA Hospital. Dave enjoyed golfing and bowling and watching all sports on TV. He was a loyal Cubs fan and a HUGE Iowa fan. Dave enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in ink, he rarely made mistakes. He loved his pets, especially his Shar Pei, Penny Lane.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, O. Russell and Emily (Grammer) Gray and Penny Lane. He is survived by his wife, Kathy (Mills) Gray; daughter, Jamie (Perry) Tague; grandchildren, Katie McKnight and Matt McKnight; great-grandson, Jaxon McKnight; sisters, Karen Sue (Gary) Bianchi and Deb (Dave) Hansen; and many uncles, nieces and nephews. His cats Rocky and Butch already miss him.

Dave will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. We encourage everyone to wear their favorite Cubs or Iowa clothing.
