Timothy Hodina, age 64, passed away on August 5, 2018, after battling prostate cancer since 2014. He was born on November 23, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Tim lived in Des Moines most of his life and graduated from Valley High School in 1972. He retired from Polk County Secondary roads after 31 years. Tim was the person who helped everyone no matter who you were. He loved hunting, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughter, Julie (Jim) Gonzalez of Des Moines; step-children, Brian Pottorff, Tammy (Jeff) Snell of PA, Brittany Clover (Pete Mercuris) of Urbandale, Dee Bentler of Des Moines and Liz (Ken) Sommars of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and half-brother, Tom Hodina Waukon.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Midege “Millie” Swartzendruber; and his father, Lester Hodina.

A Celebration of will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 at East Side Eddie’s, 3517 E 26th St, Des Moines.
