Eleanor E. Ashman

Eleanor Evelyn Ashman, 79, of Des Moines passed away on August 6, 2018. Eleanor was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. She enjoyed reading, craftwork, and tending plants. Eleanor is survived by her nieces and nephews, Theresa Pugh (Frank) of Tallahassee, Florida; Kevin Hilliard (Shari) of Bonner Springs, Kansas; Michael Hilliard of Des Moines; and Elizabeth Ashman. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Kristin Olson (Mark); RuthAnn Wilkins (Jimmie); Daniel Hilliard; and Caitlin Hilliard Soroka (Ryan); and four great-great nieces and nephews. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Geraldine Ashman; her siblings, Mary Ashman, Harold Ashman, and Geraldine Hilliard; and her brother-in-law, Dale Hilliard.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be 5:30 – 7:30PM, Friday, August 10, 2018. Funeral service will be 11AM Saturday, August 11, 2018. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
