Cynthia A. Leverette

Cindy Leverette, 47, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born March 24, 1971, in Des Moines, Iowa to Wilbert Leverette Sr. and Lillie Mae (Chism) Leverette. She loved board games, playing pool and darts, and enjoyed collecting stuffed animals. She loved God and her church and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her mother, Lillie Leverette; brothers, Wilbert (Patricia) Leverette Jr., Gregory (Sheryl) Leverette Sr., and Joe (Bonnie) Chism of West Blocton, AL; twin sister, Monica Leverette; nephew, Greg Leverette Jr.; niece, Ceirrah Leverette; step-nieces, Kiesha Renfro and Jasmine Renfro; step-nephew, Anthony Renfro; aunts, Louise Chism of Arizona, Paralee Ford of Birmingham, AL, Margaret Chism, Clara Sue Leverette of Brent, AL, and Sharon Leverette of Marshalltown, IA; uncles, Willie Chism and William Chism of Chicago, IL; cousins, Allen Dudley Sr., Jessica Leverette, Linda Faye Leverette, Rossetta Smith of Milwaukee, WI, Oneda Chism, Angel Chism, Willie Chism Jr., and Maurcia Stanton of Niceville, FL; godmother, Joann Bundy; godbrother, Danny Evans; special friend, Bruce Dawson; a host of other extended family in Poughkeepsie, New York, and Brent, AL; and many beloved friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Leverette Sr.; uncles, Jonas Leverette and Lee Curtis Leverette; aunts, Willie Ann Leverette and Rose Leverette; and a host of other aunts and uncles.

Services will be held at East 17th Street Church of God in Christ, 1649 University Ave, Des Moines on Monday, August 13, 2018. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Cremation following services.
