John "Bo" Lee Archer

John “Bo” Lee Archer, 81, passed away July 30, 2018 at Prairie Hills Retirement Community.

Bo was born July 18, 1937 in Des Moines to Gale and Gertrude Archer. He attended Lincoln High School. Bo served in the United States Army. He was a truck driver for many years. After his retirement, Bo worked as a security guard at Prairie Meadows. He loved sports and played fast and slow pitch softball. Bo was an avid Cubs fan.

He is survived by his children, Jane, Mike, John, Krissie, Danny and Sam; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five siblings; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Bo was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2nd at the funeral home. Bo will be laid to rest at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
