Peter Bernard

Peter Francis Bernard, 89, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home on Thursday at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from 10 am to time of service. Burial with military honors will take place at Glendale Cemetery
Pete was born July 4, 1919 in Des Moines to Josephine and Samuel Berardi.
He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II and the Civilian Conservation Corps. Pete had worked for Principal Financial. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the American Legion.
Pete is survived by his children, Rick Bernard , Mary Williams (Lyle) , and Linda Campbell (Barry) ; one sister of 7 siblings survives, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Bernard and his daughter, Dorene Bernard, his brother, John Bernard and his parents.
