Karen Pugh, 65, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Taylor House Hospice. Karen was born on August 5, 1943 in Dexter, Iowa to Howard and Veda Sackett.
Karen was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She loved to socialize and especially enjoyed quality time spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Kirk Sackett, Kim (Jim) Cline, Kelli (Ben) Saluri, Kent (Ann) Pugh and Korby Pugh; 11 grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Luene Westrum, Joann Sackett and Larae Berry and brother, Virgil Sackett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Pugh; son, Kale Pugh and siblings, Shirley Fulton, Vesper Sackett, Lorraine Fry, Wanda Hild, Jay Sackett and Margaret Strong.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 3399 Easton Blvd., Des Moines; burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. vigil service on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Karen.

I can not put into words our sorrow on Aunt Karen passing away and yet at the same time I know she is in a better place. She always had a special place in our hearts and we will really miss her. I have never known a sweeter person in my life. My children (as all of us were) were truly blessed to have had the chance to know and love Aunt Karen. Love to all of the family, Brenda
